I was talking to Benjamin today about visiting Wichita this weekend. He seemed to have a confused look on his face until I started telling him about some of the people we would visit. Watch this video clip to see what Benjamin thinks about the trip!

Benjamin attended his first KU football game Saturday, August 30th. KU played Florida International and won 40 to 10. The drive from Littleton to Lawrence seemed long (9 1/2 hours plus bathroom stops), but both Jackson and Benjamin did well. We arrived in Lawrence early and headed downtown to Mass. Street to load up on KU gear and eat at one of our favorite hangouts, the Free State Brewery. Being in Lawrence and going to the game was awesome and we are looking forward to another trip in October. Click here to see pictures of us at the KU game.
Benjamin Sawin Felix arrived in Wichita, Kansas on July 19, 2008 at 10:55. He weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 21 inches long. It’s important to note that he was born in Kansas and not Colorado, which makes him a Jayhawk for life! Sorry it’s take so long to post these photos. I was waiting for People Magazine to offer me $1million for the rights to the first photos, but they never called. We had baby photo’s of Benjamin and Jackson take on August 8th for birth announcements. The proofs should be in this week and the announcements should be arriving in your mailboxes shortly after.
Jackson used some of his birthday money and bought a pair of inline skates and safety pads. He was torn between inline skates and a skateboard (my brother would be so proud) but we decided to try the skates first and move to a skateboard when he was a little older. He started off by practicing in the basement of my mom’s house. It didn’t take him long before he was outside on the driveway. Take a look at some of the photos of Jackson skating and the video of him skating down the driveway. After watching the video, I think he needs a pad for his bum!
Jackson has been playing baseball at the North YMCA all summer. His team is called the “Shocker Tigers”. He has really enjoyed playing baseball this summer, although it has become much harder. The previous season Jackson played T-ball. This season is machine pitch. Check out Jackson’s baseball video and his baseball photos.
While waiting for Baby Felix to arrive, Jackson, Nana, and I went to Botanica to see the butterflies. Although it was very hot and humid, Nana thought the walking would be a good way to speed up the birth process. I’m not sure it worked, but we did have fun looking at the butterflies. Check out these photos.
